The Utah Wild are now halfway through the 2026 season after their second game at home last Friday. The Wild took on the Seattle Tempest for a rematch after playing the Tempest on April 3, the week prior.

The Tempest are a fierce opponent, still undefeated this season. The Wild faced another loss, falling to Seattle 23-12.

“Seattle is a really fast, athletic group,” Wild player Laura Brannan said. “They like to stretch into deep space and will work hard on the field, supporting their approach with a deep bench of athletes.”

The Wild faced off with that athletic presence two weeks in a row, having their own share of impressive moments during the match in spite of the loss.

The Wild got the first point early. The team got on the board after a short pull from Seattle would ultimately lead to a throw from Eva Bell to Ellie Finigan who passed to Lily Terpstra to score.

Abbie Davis was back for the match after missing the road trip. Davis led the team with 19 receptions, recording 272 receiving yards.

Liz Bunderson was another standout as usual. Bunderson led the team in throwing and defense. Bunderson ended the match having recorded 4 blocks, 4 assists, and 397 throwing yards.

Brannan also mentioned teammate Eleanor Watchtel’s performance on the road as well as back at home against the Tempest.

“Eleanor draws very difficult matchups and handles them all with poise,” Brannan said. “She

is quick to learn about her matchup and to adjust her play to remain the reliable handler we know her as. Eleanor drives so much movement on the field, and I love to be on the same line as her.”

Catch the Wild at home for their next game on April 25 when they take on the Los Angeles Astra. Tickets available here!
