Last Saturday, the Utah Wild met up with the Colorado Alpenglow for their second time this season. Maybe hoping for a bit of a revenge tour but the Wild fell short 15 - 18.

The Wild came into this game hungry for the win and they nearly had it. Utah had an early lead with several opportunities to tie. This team is always ready to put up a fight until the end.

Alpenglow has been absolutely dominating in games this season, something we even saw in the Wild’s home opener. After this win of the Utah, Colorado has clinched their spot in the Championship, where they will be playing to defend their title after winning last year.

Despite this, aside from a particularly high scoring quarter that would end up securing Colorado the win, the Wild weren’t giving this team much room to breathe.

Utah started the action in the first, after a foul called by Abby Davis, Utah was able to gain possession and work the disc to the endzone with Kyra Khoroujnikova scoring the first point of the game.

The Wild were ahead by two in the first and nearly tied for points again at the end of third. Utah tied Colorado in holds and led them in breaks and blocks. Carly Atwell led Utah with 36 completions and 2 assists.

In the third, Davis was back in the action again, scoring a point that would shift the game back more towards the Wild’s favor for the remaining two quarters.

Utah takes on the Arizona Sidewinders this weekend in a double header with the Salt Lake Shred at Zions Bank Arena. Tickets are still available here.
