The Utah Wild hosted their 11th Annual Ski Town Classic on August 16-17, turning the weekend into an exciting celebration of ultimate frisbee. The tournament featured a packed roster of teams: a full 20-team Open Division, 16-team Mixed Division, and 16-team Women’s Division.
In the Women’s Division, Dallas-based team Dimes was an absolute powerhouse. They cruised through the weekend undefeated, allowing only ten points against them across six games. However, this shouldn’t come as any surprise to those familiar with the team, Dimes haven’t lost a single match the entire club season.
Teams like Colorado Small Batch from Denver and Gila Monster from Tucson also impressed, each suffering just a single loss, both at the hands of Dimes.
The Men’s Division featured three Utah teams in the semi-finals; Wretched Refuse from Lehi, Cache Valley High Ground from Logan, and PowderHogs from Salt Lake City. However it was Hazard from Los Angeles, California that came out on top at the end of the tournament.
In the Mixed Division, it was Salt Lake City’s own Sego that went undefeated all weekend to win their tournament.
“Having a home tourney is always a great opportunity, and we appreciate all of the teams who made the trek out here to compete. Everybody knows the mixed division is a wild and unpredictable ride and we were just happy to have a consistent and controlled effort from the whole team throughout the weekend,” said Gene L'Heureux, from Sego who also mentioned that the team had been focused on playing their best ball, not just on winning a game.

“Winning a tourney is always a special experience so a huge shoutout to all of our players who got their first tourney win this weekend or their first undefeated weekend,” said L’Heureux, “Also a huge thank you to Erica [Bindas] and Erin [Suttman] for putting on this great event and keeping the skies sunny for us.”
Other teams of note in the Mixed Division include Moontower, whose only loss came from their faceoff with Sego in the final, and Space Ghosts and Classy who both made it to the semi-finals.
